Tulsa 66ers Announce Open Tryouts for 2012-13 Season

Tulsa, Okla., September 5, 2012 - The Tulsa 66ers, proud affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder, announced today that the team will hold open tryouts for the 2012-13 season Oct. 20-21 inside the SpiritBank Event Center.
Registration on Saturday, Oct. 20 begins with check-in at 8:15 a.m., followed by two sessions at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Only top performers will be invited to participate in a session on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m.
Individuals will be evaluated through a variety of drills and scrimmages. Prospects will be assessed by 66ers coaches and Thunder basketball operations staff.
Previous open tryouts have produced several players who made the 66ers opening night roster including: Brandon Brooks, Ben Colon, Marcus Lewis and LaDustin Williams.
Interested players should submit completed registration forms along with a $150 non-refundable participation fee by Oct. 17 to the Tulsa 66ers business office located at 10425 South 82nd East Avenue, Suite 105, Tulsa, OK, 741133. A $175 fee will be assessed to those registering after the Oct. 17 deadline.
Those attending the tryouts may take advantage of a special $67 nightly rate at the Hampton Inn & Suites, located in Bixby adjacent to the SpiritBank Event Center.
The 66ers open the 2012-13 D-League season at the home versus the Texas Legends on Friday, Nov. 23.
