Trumbo to Join Aces on Rehab Assignment

RENO, Nev.- The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that Mark Trumbo will join the Reno Aces on a Major League Rehab assignment.
A 2012 American League All-Star, Trumbo is a career .248 hitter, with 102 home runs and 303 RBIs. While with the Los Angeles Angels last season, Trumbo was among the American League leaders in home runs (34 - 4th), RBIs (100 - 8th), and extra-base hits (66 - 9th).
In 2011, Trumbo was named The Sporting News AL Rookie of the Year and Players Choice Outstanding AL Rookie, and also finished second in the BBWAA Rookie of the Year voting.
The California native is in his first season with the D-backs organization after being acquired in December, 2013 as part of a three-team trade with the Angels and White Sox.
Trumbo will be the third Diamondback to appear for the Aces on a rehab assignment this season, joining Cody Ross and J.J. Putz.
Trumbo, who is recovering from a stress fracture in his left foot, has five years of Major League Experience. He was hitting .210 with seven home runs and 19 RBIs for Arizona before getting injured.
