Troy Bruins News Release

Troy, OH - The Troy Bruins professional hockey team, proud members of the All American Hockey League, announce the opening of the 2010-2011 Pro Training Camp on Saturday, October 16 inside the historic Hobart Arena in downtown Troy, Ohio in anticipation of the approaching AAHL regular season.

Players from across the globe will converge on Troy for a chance to compete to become a Troy Bruin for the upcoming season, and will join the seven players already signed from the previously held AAHL Tryout Camp back in September.

The camp officially kicks off on Friday evening with player check-in, orientation meetings and medical physicals provided by Upper Valley Family Care in Troy & Piqua, the official team physicians of the Troy Bruins.

The action reaches the ice on Saturday, as the players will begin intense on-ice drills and game scenarios with Bruins head coach Rick Szabo, broken into a morning and an afternoon session while day two of the Training Camp features two afternoon on-ice sessions, as players continue to battle for a spot on the Opening Night roster to become the next Troy Bruins.

Once the weekend is through, the Bruins will begin preparing for the quickly approaching season with daily skates and a preseason exhibition game against in-state rival Queen City Storm on Wednesday evening at the Sports Plus Arena. Szabo will continue to evaluate the talent on the ice as he pairs down the roster towards the final 18 just prior to the season opener in Lapeer, Michigan on Friday, October 22 against the Lapeer Loggers.

All on-ice sessions are free and open to the public, while members of the Bruins staff will be on hand to answer questions and to assist fans with the purchase of season and group tickets. The weekend ice schedule is as follows:

Saturday, October 16 - 8:30am to 10:00am - 12:30pm to 1:30pm

Sunday, October 17 - 1:15pm to 2:45pm - 4:15 to 5:30pm
