Troy Bruins News Release
The Troy Bruins professional hockey team, proud members of the All American Hockey League, are set to celebrate the end of the 2010 portion of their home schedule in holiday spirit with a pair of games inside the historic Hobart Arena on Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm.
Friday night's matchup, sponsored by La Bella Viaggio of Troy, features the Indiana Blizzard making their first trip to Hobart Arena, and only their second meeting with the Bruins in history. Fans in attendance will be welcomed by holiday festivities including Bruins Elves working along the concourse, while children of all ages are encouraged to have their picture taken for free with "BuckyClaus" for a truly unforgettable keepsake!
Saturday's game, Sponsored by Sonic, will welcome the in-state rival Queen City Storm into Hobart Arena for the second time, with the Bruins edging the Storm 7-5 back on October 30 in front of 1,358 fans as part of Troy's opening night. A revamped Storm lineup will skate into Troy on Saturday night looking to avenge the last appearance in the Miami Valley, while fans will be treated to special promotions and offers from Sonic Restaurants, the official Drive-In of your Troy Bruins. Saturday night will also honor the Lehman High School Volleyball team's recent state championship, as the entire team will be on hand to drop the ceremonial first puck prior to the game.
Additionally, fans are encouraged to get into the holiday spirit with the Bruins and bring a non-perishable food item to be dropped off at the front entrance on both Friday and Saturday nights, with the donations going to the St. Pat's Soup Kitchen to help local Troy and Miami County residents in need this winter. This is the second consecutive year the Bruins have donated to the St. Pat's Soup Kitchen, with the team hoping to surpass last season's four full bins contribution.
Already the most affordable family entertainment destination in the region, the Bruins are offering a special holiday coupon good for $1 off any general admission, and they are available at area retail outlets as well as in copies of Thursday and Saturday's Troy Daily News, Piqua Daily Call and Sidney Daily News.
