Troy Bruins News Release

TROY, OH - The Queen City Storm ended their winless streak on the road on the season until a three goal second period propelled them to a close 5-4 win against in-state rival Troy Bruins inside the historic Hobart Arena in downtown Troy.

In the first, Queen City struck first with a Joe Rackett goal past a diving Bruins netminder Anthony Luckow to draw first blood. Troy would tack on two straight goals to close out the first period and lead 2-1. Kevin Lee knotted the game up at 1-1 and taking the only lead of the game for the Bruins on a Willie Boyle goal. The Bruins led 2-1.

In the second period, the Storm tacked on three straight goals past Luckow. With two from Andy Sthratham and one from Brad Bollinger, Queen City stormed to a 4-2 lead. To cap off the second, Troy's Aaron Blades put one past John Dorman. The Storm and Bruins went back to the locker rooms, with the visitors in dark blue leading 4-3.

In the final period, Troy tied it up near the midway point by a power-play goal from Aaron Blades, chipping in his second. However, that tie would only last fifteen seconds as it was Sthratham knocking the game winner past Luckow. Troy had a few chances in the dying moments of the game, but Dorman became a brick wall.

With the loss, Troy is now 6-6-2, now 4-3 at home. Queen City goes to 4-5-2 overall, and 1-4-1 on the road.

Queen City will play the Blizzard in Dyer, Indiana on December 11th. Troy will play at Lapeer on the 10th of December. The Loggers and Bruins have met up in the state of Michigan three times, with Troy owning a 2-1 advantage in the Loggers place. The Bruins look to end a four game losing streak.

Saturday night's game closed out the 2010 portion of the Bruins home schedule, with the team returning home to the comfy confines of Hobart Arena after a lengthy time away on January 21.
