Troy Bruins News Release
TROY, OHIO- Before tonight's game, the Indiana Blizzard only won once on the road in four tries. It turned out to be a good night for the visitors, as the Bruins were unable to stop the offense of Indiana and lost 4-3 at Hobart Arena.
The game was scoreless for the majority of the first period until a goal by Jim Stussy passed by Rob Mattison at the 15:36 mark. Down 1-0, the Bruins wanted to come back in the second period.
Troy's Bill Knauber dumped his third goal of the season past Rob Sudduth to tie the game at one each. That 1-1 tie didn't last long, as Billy Vitale scored just 34 seconds after the first Bruins goal. That wasn't all for the scoring in the second, as Zach Kane put in his first goal of the season to give the Blizzard a 3-1 lead. Troy cut the visitor lead by one after Ryan Stern made his first goal as a Troy Bruin. After two, Indiana led 3-2.
The Blizzard scored the game-winner with thirteen minutes left to go in the game by a Shane Furguson goal. The Bruins did cut the lead back to one from a Chris Tasic goal, but couldn't tie it at the end.
After the ice was settled, seven individual players scored goals with a couple of them netting their first of the season. Mattinson allowed four goals in his first game since November 20th against Battle Creek. On the other side, Rob Sudduth allowed three goals and shut the Bruins out for the first period.
With the loss, Troy falls to 6-5-2, 4-2 at Hobart Arena. Indiana rises to 5-4-1 on the season, 2-3 on the road and 2-0 against the Bruins on the season.
The Bruins welcome in the Queen City Storm on Saturday, December 4th at 8:00pm. The Bruins are 1-0-1 this season against the Storm, with the win on Troy's Opening Night. Tickets are $8 for the home finale of 2010, with $1 coupons available in Saturday's edition of the Troy Daily News, the Piqua Daily Call, and the Sidney Daily News.
