October 21, 2010 - All American Hockey League (AAHL)
Troy Bruins News Release

The Troy Bruins, proud members of the All American Hockey League, are finally ready to lace 'em up for the 2010-2011 AAHL regular season when they travel to the Polar Palace to battle the expansion Lapeer Loggers on Friday night at 7:30pm.

Fresh off a big win in their only preseason tuneup on Wednesday against in-state rival Queen City Storm, the Bruins enter their second season on the ice in a new league, and with a fresh group of promising young professional hockey players, still battling for a permanent spot on the roster.

Friday night's game marks the first meeting all-time between the Loggers, led by former Flint General's star Lorne Knauft, who boast a veteran team of rough and tumble players, and the Bruins, led by former professional goaltender Rick Szabo, and including a duo of returning Bruins and a pair of Troy-natives on the current roster. Of the locals, Troy native Derek Nova picked up a goal and an assist in Wednesday's preseason win, while former South Carolina and Miami Valley Silverbacks star football player Kris Mick will make his debut in the Bruins uniform.

Fans can tune into the live internet television broadcast starting at 7:25pm on PostTV found by visiting MiamiCountyPost.com, with the "voice of the Bruins" JT Szabo calling all the exciting action on the ice.

The Bruins open the home portion of the regular season on Saturday, October 30 at 8pm when they host the Madison IceMuskies inside the historic Hobart Arena. Tickets are on sale now for only $8, and can be purchased online in advance by visiting www.TroyBruins.com or by calling (937) 985-PUCK.
