Troy Bruins Fall at Home 4-1 Against Battle Creek Sunday

November 21, 2010 - All American Hockey League (AAHL)
Troy Bruins News Release

Troy, OH - The Bruins held sole possession of first place in the All American Hockey League for a span of less than a day, as the Revolution of Battle Creek extracted revenge and dealt a 4-1 loss at home to bring the two teams back to deadlock at the top of the league standings. That marks the first loss of the season inside the historic Hobart Arena.

Battle Creek got on the board first with a Power Play goal from Shawn McNulty halfway through the first period. While the Revs didn't score many goals in the first period, the defense held Troy to just four shots on goal. The newest Bruin, Anthony Luckow, kept the Revs in check for the first two periods.

In the second, Troy would tally their only goal of the game from an unassisted goal by Derek Scanlon. Troy out-shot Battle Creek 12-6, marking the only time the Bruins accomplished this feat in the two weekend games.

In the third, the Revolution would tack on the game winner on another unassisted goal, this time by Chris Affinati. The Bruins could only watch as the Revs tapped in two more, one thanks to Affinati for his second of the night. Wrapping up the scoring was Billy Siers, slamming it past the former Wooster goalie Luckow. The Revs went on to beat Troy by a score of 4-1. With the loss, the Bruins are now 4-1-0 at the historic Hobart Arena and now fall to and overall record of 6-3-2. Battle Creek reclaims a share of first place and rise to 7-3-0 on the season.
