
Trio of Texans Join Bandits

San Angelo, Texas - San Angelo Bandits are pleased to announce the signing of three Texas athletes to the 2016 roster. Joining the Bandits are Houston Texas resident Desmond Marrs, San Angelo resident and Angelo State University graduate Kyle Patterson, both bring prior CIF experience to the rebuilding Bandits team. Also signed is Beaumont Texas resident and East Texas Baptist University standout wide-receiver Stephen Alfred.
Marrs (6'4" 230 lbs / WR), played his college ball at Tyler Junior College before starting his professional career in the IFL with the Wyoming Calvary. Last season Marrs played one game for the Bandits pulling in 4 catches for 48 yards. Marrs will be joining rookie receiver Stephen Alfred and former Angelo State University defensive lineman Kyle Patterson.
Patterson (6'2" 305lbs / DL), was a 2 year starter at Angelo State University earning him honors of being named team captain and a two time All-Conference selection. Patterson finished his career at Angelo State University with 48 tackles and 8 sacks. In 2015 Patterson played 9 games for the Bandits and was credited with 23 tackles 18 solo and 5 assisted tackles.
Alfred (6'0" 202 lbs / WR) leaves his mark in the ETBU record books. Alfred currently is ranked fifth for ETBU in Career Receiving Yards (1132 yards), third in Career Touchdown Receptions (11) and he holds the school record for Career Yards per Reception with an average of 21.36 per catch.
"We are excited to have all three of these young-men join us, Marrs and Alfred posses the attributes you want to see in your receiving core and Kyle Patterson brings the intensity, and physicality to the defense that we are looking for this season", said Head Coach Meadow Lemon.
The Trio will be part of what is shaping up as one of the most competitive training camps in the Bandits four year history. The Bandits will open training camp on February 12, 2016 brining in the league roster allotment of 35 and cutting down to the roster maximum of 24 prior to the season opener on February 27th, against conference rivals Dodge City Law.
