Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils (9-12) dropped a 3-1 pitchers' duel to the Spokane Indians (8-13) on Thursday night at Avista Stadium. Tri-City starter Cole Bellinger suffered the tough-luck loss after allowing only one earned run in six innings.
Despite jumping out to an early lead, the Dust Devils were held scoreless over the final eight innings of the game. Even though the performance ended with a loss, Bellinger had the longest start of his professional career and had a career-high nine strikeouts. Owen Miller led the way at the plate for the Dust Devils, finishing the night with three of the team's five hits.
Tri-City will try to avoid the sweep on Friday night. The Dust Devils will send right-hander Same Keating to the mound. Spokane will counter with right-hander Seth Nordlin. Tri-City will return to Gesa Stadium on Saturday, July 7 to begin a three-game series with the Everett AquaSox. There will be a postgame fireworks show on Saturday presented by Toyota. Tickets are still available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com.
