
Tri-City Americans Mitch Fadden named Husky WHL Player of the Month

CALGARY, AB. - The Western Hockey League announced today that forward Mitch Fadden, of the Tri-City Americans, has been named the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for February.
The 20-year-old native of Salmon Arm, British Columbia, appeared in all 12 Tri-City games through February notching 14 goals and adding eight assists for 22 points, establishing a new career-high for both stats in one month. He picked up points in 11 of 12 games and wrapped up the month with an eight game goal streak, which has since been stretch to nine games, the WHL's longest goal scoring streak of the season. Fadden also maintained an impressive +15 rating through the month of February which is also a new career-high for a month.
Fadden's consistent play helped the Tri-City Americans post an outstanding 10-2 record through February, which included eight straight wins to wrap up the month. The Americans maintain their first place standing in the WHL U.S. Division and sit comfortably in second spot in the WHL Western Conference with 97 points and a 47-16-03 record. His efforts also earned him a Boston Pizza WHL Player of the Week honour and he currently sits 16th among all WHL scorers with 73 points (36 goals, 37 assists) in 57 games thus far this season.
Fadden is rounding out his fifth full season of play in the WHL in a career that began back in 2003 with the Seattle Thunderbirds. The Tampa Bay Lightning 4th round Draft pick in 2007 has appeared in 334 WHL contests picking up 315 career points thus far (105 goals, 210 assists).
His accomplishments make Mitch Fadden a deserving choice as the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for February.
