Cleveland Barons News Release
The Cleveland Barons Organization is proud to announce that defenseman Trevor Mallon has accepted a hockey scholarship to Niagara University for the 2004-05 season.
Mallon, the 5'11 175lb right handed defenseman from Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, currently has 1g and 4a in 27 games for the Barons this season. Trevor has made steady progress from a summer shoulder injury that cost him from playing in the first 19 games.
Mallon came to the Barons organization from the Cobourg Cougars in the Ontario Provincial Hockey League where he had 15g and 25a. Previous to that Trevor played at Grosse Pointe North High School in Michigan where he had 5 goals and 35 assists in 2001-02 season.
Barons Head Coach/GM Tim Alexander had this to say; "Trevor Mallon will be a great addition to the Niagara University hockey program. He has a tremendous upside for his future hockey endeavors."
Mallon, the nephew of LPGA star Meg Mallon, becomes the third Baron to commit to division 1 school this season.
