Evansville Otters News Release
EVANSVILLE, IN - The Evansville Otters were defeated in a slugfest by a score of 14-4 on Saturday night at Bosse Field. Evansville right-hander, Luc Rennie, struggled early on, allowing four runs on three hits in the first inning.
The Otters would tack on a run in the third behind a scorched triple from Kolten Yamaguchi, followed by a sacrifice fly.
Traverse City would score an additional run in the fifth to bring the score to 5-1. The Otters mustered a two-run rally in the fifth, highlighted by clutch singles from Chris Breen and Kaeo Aliviado, which brought Evansville back within striking distance 5-3. However, the sixth inning would prove to be all Traverse City from that point. Unfortunately, four hits that included a three-run bomb led to five runs for the Beach Bums. The Otters would score another run in the sixth thanks to an RBI single by Yamaguchi, making the score 10-4. Mercifully, the scoring parade would end after the seventh.
Although, not before Traverse City padded their lead with four more runs, behind two key hits.
Evansville will look to bounce back tomorrow against Traverse City for the series finale, with first pitch slated for 5:05 pm CDT at Historic Bosse Field. Tickets available at www.evansvilleotters.com or by phone at 812-435-8686 ext. 21.
