DANBURY, CT--Drew Omicioli's power-play goal at the 12:56 mark of the third period snapped a 1-1 tie as Danbury defeated the Ft. Wayne Komets 2-1 before 2,425 on Sunday night at the Danbury Ice Arena. The win is Danbury's 6th straight and closes them to within five points of first place in the UHL East Division. The night also marked the second annual Holiday Skate With the Players, as fans joined the Trashers on ice after the game to celebrate the holidays at the Danbury Ice Arena.

J.M. Daoust netted his 4th goal as he scored just 10 seconds into the opening period for the only goal until Ft. Wayne's game-tying tally at the 13:37 mark of the second. David Carpentier knocked in a rebound past Jayme Platt to tie the score.

Drew Omicioli's goal came with the Trashers on a 5 on 3 power play, assisted by Fred Belanger and Alex Goupil after David Hukalo went off for Holding, followed by a bench minor for too many men on the ice.

Platt stopped 24 of 25 shots to pick up his 3rd Trashers win, while Kevin Kurk dropped to 0-2-0 following a 20 save effort. The Trashers improved to 14-7-2 with the victory.

Following the game all fans were invited to skate with the players as the Trashers celebrated their win. Dunkin Donuts was on hand as they provided free coffee, Munchkins and hot chocolate to all who stayed.
