Danbury Trashers News Release
DANBURY, CT--In their return home to the Danbury Ice Arena on Wednesday night, the Trashers failed to put a dent into the win column during their semifinal series with Muskegon as the Fury topped Danbury 6-3 to pull to within one victory from returning to the Colonial Cup finals.
Jeff Daw netted his 2nd playoff goal just 2:40 into the opening period as the Trashers took a 1-0 lead that lasted through until the second period.
However, the Fury would storm back as goals by Todd Robinson and Robin Bouchard 58 seconds apart would give Muskegon a 2-1 lead heading into the final period.
The Trashers tied the game in the opening minute of the 3rd as J.F. David's power play goal tied the score at 2-2. However, the Fury struck back with Jordon Flodell's first playoff goal at the 2:28 mark of the period. Geno Parrish would tie the game with a goal at the 7:47 mark, but surrendered the lead on Bouchard's second goal of the night at the 12:46 mark.
Muskegon added two late goals from Mike Hollis and Billy Collins, with the latter an empty net goal. Scott Stirling stopped 22 of 27 shots in the loss while Sly Daigle turned away 31 of 34 in his 4th straight win and 7th playoff victory. Danbury returns home Friday at 7:30pm looking to avoid elimination at the Danbury Ice Arena starting at 7:30pm.
