A quiet game on the score and penalty sheet, Danbury opened the scoring in the first period with Ben-Amor's third goal of the season from Brian Herbert and Alex Goupil at 16:45 for the only goal of the first period.
Generals' rookie Mike Kinnie tied the game with a power play goal at 18:04 in the second frame from John DiPace and Bobby Reynolds. Flint earned a power play when Ben-Amor took an obstruction-hooking call at 13:16. While on the penalty kill, Danbury's Bruce Richardson received a boarding major and game misconduct for a hit on Rob Valicevic at 13:47. The Trashers successfully killed off the two-man advantage, but surrendered the tying goal with just 0:43 seconds remaining in Flint's power play.
The game-winning goal came as 6:48 of the final frame as Ben-Amor notched his second of the game, with assists from Doug Christiansen and J.F. David.

Marco Emond turned aside 22-of-24 for the Generals while Danbury's Lavallee stopped 22-of-23. The Kinnie tally for Flint was the only special teams goal of the night (Flint 1/3, Danbury 0/1).
