Training Camp Rosters Set

Saskatoon Blades News Release


A total of 71 players will report for Saskatoon Blades training camp on Saturday morning. Camp begins away from the rink as players will register at Elite Proformance Training Centre and immediately move onto photos, measurements, and fitness testing.

On-ice scrimmages begin Sunday morning at SaskTel Centre at 10:30am and run until 7:00pm. Camp resumes Monday morning with the first scrimmage set for 9:00am and the Kirkness Cup Final game going at 4:00pm.

All ice sessions at SaskTel Centre are open to the public and admission is free. The Frozen Pond will also be open Sunday from 11:30am-4:00pm and 9:00am-5:00pm on Monday.

The camp roster breaks down as follows: Position Forwards - 36 Defense - 26 Goalies - 9 Birth Year 1998 - 3 1999 - 7 2000 - 6 2001 - 14 2002 - 18 2003 - 23

The players have been split into four teams named after notable Blades alumni: Braden Holtby, Wendel Clark, Glen Gulutzan, and Todd McLellan.

Absent from training camp are recent Blades' 2018 draft picks Garin Scherr and Brodie Guenther who are currently competing for Team Saskatchewan at the 15U National Baseball Championships, better known as the Ray Carter Cup, in Oshawa, Ontario.
