
Tourists Take the Braves

Rome, GA - The Asheville Tourists defeated the Rome Braves in game one of a four game series 8-4 before a crowd of 2,262.
Rome took a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI double by Luis Sumoza but Asheville tied the game in the top of the next inning on David Christenson's RBI double. Rome jumped back to a 2-1 advantage in the bottom of the second on a sacrifice fly by Chais Fuller.
The Tourists took a 4-2 lead in the third on an RBI double by Mike Zuanich and a two RBI single by Ryan Peisel. Rome tied the game in the bottom of the inning thanks to Adam Milligan's RBI triple and Matt Kennelly's RBI double. The go ahead run by Asheville was scored in the fourth on an RBI groundout by Delta Cleary to make it a 5-4 game. They added two more runs in the seventh on a two a RBI double by Christenson, who had three RBI on the night. Asheville went on the win the game 8-4.
Parker Frazier (8-8) gets the win for the Tourists and J.J. Hoover (4-5) gets the loss for Rome. Kurt Yacko gets the save (4).
