Tourists Make It Four Straight

(Rome, GA) Parker Frazier picked up his team leading 8th win, leading Asheville (47-55, 21-12) 8-4 over the Rome Braves to open a four game road trip. David Christensen hit two doubles and drove in three while Mike Zuanich had a three hit game and the Tourists maintained 1.5 game lead for first place over the Augusta GreenJackets.

Trialing 2-1 in the third inning Asheville scored three runs all with two outs to take their first lead of the game. Jordan Pacheco hit an infield single and Jimmy Cesario worked a walk. Mike Zuanich then delivered an RBI ground rule double to tie the game at 2-2. Ryan Peisel followed with a two-run single giving Asheville a 4-2 lead.

Rome tied the game in the bottom of the third inning With a single from Samuel Sime and a Adam Milligan triple. Matt Kennelly followed with a double to tie the game. Parker Frazier would then settle in and not allow a run through the next four innings of work.

Frazier (8-7) tossed seven innings with four runs on nine hits. Frazier struck out six and picked up 11 groundouts to move the Asheville winning streak to four consecutive games.

David Christensen smacked a two-out two-run double with a 5-4 lead in the seventh inning, his second off the game to give the Tourists some breathing room. Kurt Yacko finished the final two innings to earn his fourth save of the year.
