Tough weekend for the Phantoms

New Hampshire Phantoms News Release


Hampstead, NH, May 16 -- The NH Phantoms lost both of their away games this weekend from the USL Division II this weekend.

On Friday the Phantoms played at Pittsburgh Riverhounds and lost 1:3. Ricky Charles scored an equalizer for NH two minutes before halftime after an assist from James Proctor. The home side however managed to net the ball twice in the second half and took all three points with a 3:1 win. The Phantoms, who were with many injury problems however played well and managed to make 15 shots. Josh Cole played in goal in this fixture, starter T.J. Tomasso is recalled by NE Revolution and will be absent one more week. 24 hours later the Phantoms were defeated by the same scoreline at Cincinnati Kings. Bjorn Hansen was on target from the penalty spot after 50 minutes, before that the Kings had taken the lead 1:0. Again, the Phantoms conceded two more goals for the final score 3:1.

Matthew Parsons was in goal for this game. The Phantoms are back in action this weekend when they entertain Western Mass Pioneers at Dr George J. Larkin Field on the Campus of SNHU.

The NH Lady Phantoms lost their first game for the season in the USL W- League (ranked second in the world) at home to Western Mass Lady Pioneers 0:3. The team is on the road this weekend – on Friday Lady Phantoms play at South Jersey Banshees and on Saturday at New Jersey Wildcats.
