(Harrisburg, Pa., May 16, 2005) – Three Harrisburg City Islanders Academy teams kick off their 2005 Super Y-League schedules this weekend, beginning on Saturday, May 21, when the City Islanders Academy U13 Boys take on the New Jersey Junior Stallions at Passaic County Tech High School in Wayne, N.J. at 6:00 p.m.

On Sunday, May 22, the C.I. Academy U19 Girls travel to Flushing Meadow, N.Y. to face the Long Island Lady Rough Riders, while the C.I. Academy U14 Girls host the Baltimore Bays at Keller Field in Hummelstown.

The remaining four C.I. Academy teams—U14 Boys, U15 Boys, U19 Boys, and U15 Girls—will all begin their seasons by the middle of June.

In conjunction with the Harrisburg City Islanders' partnership with the Dauphin County Executive Commission on Drugs, Alcohol, and Tobacco (DCDAT), all City Islanders Academy players will be recognized at the Harrisburg City Islanders home game on Saturday, June 4, against the Cincinnati Kings. The players, in their Academy uniforms, will be introduced on the field at the match, which will kick off at Skyline Sports Complex at 7:05 p.m.

For the 2005 season, the City Islanders Academy will field seven teams in the Mid-Atlantic Division of the Super Y-League's Northeast Conference. The teams will play from 10-14 games, with schedules ending by the middle of August.

A full City Islanders Academy launch, featuring teams in each of the Super Y-League's age groups and expanded soccer development programs, is planned for the Winter of 2006. The City Islanders Academy will provide soccer instruction (such as camps and clinics) on a year-round basis, as well as field highly competitive, professionally structured Super Y teams designed to maximize the potential of youth players from the area.

Through the City Islanders' partnership with the Pennsylvania Soccer School, a variety of soccer academies and camps are available this summer. For more information, visit www.pasoccerschool.com.

Affiliated with U.S. Soccer and partnered with U.S. Club Soccer, the Super Y-League is designed for talented youth players destined for professional or international careers. The league is made up of a series of regional leagues within the framework of a North American league containing the top clubs and players from the United States and Canada.
