Torrington Titans Host Benefit Benefitting Player Development Fund and "Right To Play"

Torrington, CT, November 11, 2012: On November 17, 2012, the Torrington Titans will be hosting their 1st Annual Celebrity Wine and Liquor Tasting, at the Winvian Resort in Morris. The event will raise funds for the Titan's player development fund, which assists with the costs associated with hosting collegiate athletes, giving them a chance to further develop their playing skills in the hopes of taking the next step in the game. The non-profit group "Right To Play", will also benefit from these efforts.

The Torrington Titans are a collegiate summer wood bat league team, which play their home games at Fuessenich Park in Torrington, as one of nine teams in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. The FCBL's mission is to provide student-athletes from New England, and New England Colleges, the opportunity to compete with and play with the elite players from across the country, and to promote them to MLB organizations.  Each roster must contain at least 13 players from New England or from a New England University/College.

"Right to Play", give children a chance to become constructive participants in society, regardless of gender, disability, ethnicity, social background or religion. Through games and sports, they help create social change in communities affected by war, poverty and disease. Their aim is to engage key decision-makers from the development, sport, business, media and government sectors, and further ensure every child benefits from the positive power of sport and play www.righttoplay.com.

The Schley Family Foundation will be presenting a donation of $5,000 to "Right To Play", at the event. Mr. Van Schley will be presenting the check during the festivities. Mr. Schley is a director of the FCBL, and also part owner of the Titans. Ex-Boston Red Sox All-Star Rico Petrocelli, and Muppets Cartoonist Brad Gilchrist, will be in attendance to meet and greet attendees.
