EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC (1-0-0, 3 pts.) look to earn their second win of the 2021 season as they host San Diego Loyal SC (0-1-0, 0 pts.) on Thursday, May 6 on national television at H-E-B Park. The matchup is set to kick off at 7 p.m. CST on ESPN Deportes.

RGV FC: The home opener victory gave the Toros the first-ever win in a season-opener. Forward Elvis Amoh opened the scoring tab for RGV in their new era. The goal came off an assist by returning midfielder James Murphy, allowing Amoh to send a shot to the back of the net. At the goal, Tyler Deric totaled two key saves that kept the first clean sheet of the season. The Toros look to continue their momentum and earn a win at home.
SD Loyal: San Diego is led by former U.S. Men's National Team midfielder Landon Donovan as head coach. The matchup is the first time both sides meet. The squad kicked off their campaign with a 4-1 loss to Phoenix Rising FC, Ben Spencer being the lone scorer for SD Loyal. With the defeat, San Diego is looking to bounce back and earn a win on the road.
