Tucson Toros News Release
Victoria, BC-The Tucson Toros were unable to snap their winless streak, losing their fifth straight game in a 5-4 defeat at the hands on the Victoria Seals. The Toros got a strong outing by starting Vince Davis who went six innings allowing just one run while fanning five. Davis left the game down 1-0 but the Toros offense put up four runs in the top of the 7th inning to take the lead. That lead held until the bottom of the 9th, but the bullpen was ultimately unable to close the door, giving up four runs in the bottom of the 9th resulting in a walkoff victory for Victoria. Jordan Muir started the 9th inning and gave up all four runs (three earned) to take his second loss of the season.
The Toros and Seals will square off once again Wednesday at 7:05 pm Tucson time in the second game of the four game series. A linked feed of the Victoria broadcast will be available at www.tucsontoros.com.
Tucson will return home just in time for Independence Day. The team will begin a three game homestand on July 4th at 7:00 pm. The game will feature a special Toros Star Spangled Spectacular.
