Lima singing anthem, post-game fireworks on Friday

The 13-year Major League veteran pitcher Jose Lima, fresh off another solid outing, will sing the national anthem at the Friday, July 3 Armada game at Blair Field. Friday's game has been moved up to a 6:35pm first pitch as the evening will feature a post-game fireworks show to celebrate the Independence Day weekend.

Lima pitched eight strong innings last night, giving up only one run while striking out four batters. (Read about last night's game) The former NL All-Star has sung the Star Spangled Banner for Long Beach only once before. The Armada is 1-0 when Lima sings the anthem this season.

The Armada's Independence Weekend Fireworks Spectacular on Friday, July 3 will cap a week full of great fun and promotions at Blair Field.

ARBY I. T-SHIRT GIVEAWAY

On Wednesday, July 1, the first 100 fans into Blair Field will get a special edition Arby I. T-shirt. Make sure to get to Blair Field early as every Wednesday this season is an Arby I. T-shirt giveaway night. First pitch at 7:05pm.

IRABUMANIA & $2 BEERS

Thursday, July 2 features another Armada "Thirsty Thursday" with $2 beers available from 5:30-7:30pm. The gates open at 5:30pm for the special happy hour at Blair Field each and every Thursday this season. Come see two-time World Series Champion Hideki Irabu take the mound for the Fleet for just the third time at home. First pitch at 7:05pm.

FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR

The Armada's Independence Weekend Fireworks Spectacular is on Friday, July 3. The gates open at 5:35pm, as the game has been moved up an hour to accommodate the post-game fireworks show. Come watch the Armada light up the sky after the game against the Scorpions at Blair Field. First pitch at 6:35pm.
