Tucson Toros News Release

TUCSON, AZ - The Tucson Toros played game two of their three game set with the St. George Roadrunners, Wednesday night. The home side found themselves down 6-0 after one inning of play and battled back to get within one run, but lost 8-6.

Dan Knox, (3-1) got the start for the Toros but he didn't make it out of the first inning as he gave up six runs on seven hits and was pegged with the loss. Jordan Muir came in to finish the first and threw 3 2/3 total innings, where he gave up one run, on seven hits, and he struck out five Roadrunners.

Toby Nordman also gave the Toros quality innings out of the pen as he went three innings deep, pitching innings five through seven. The rookie lefty gave up one run, on three hits, in relief.

Cibney Bello and Reid Price also appeared for the Toros, with Bello throwing the eighth and Price finishing things off with the ninth.

The Toros offense had some ground to make up early and they did a good job of chipping away at the Roadrunners early lead by scoring a pair of runs in both the first and second innings. The home side also scored single runs in the fifth and sixth and eighth, but it wasn't enough against the South Division rival.

Dustin Yount had a good night at the plate as he went 2-5, with a pair of doubles. The Toros' first baseman also scored one run and drove in one RBI.

Dylan Parzyk got the start behind the dish and he also contributed at the plate as he went 2-3, reached on a base on balls, and scored two runs.

Ryan Priddy was the Toros' other offensive standout as he went 2-3, hit a double, scored one run and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth.

The two teams will play the final game of the three game series tomorrow night, at Hi Corbett field. First pitch is set for 7:00 pm, with gates opening at 6:00 pm.
