
Toros Drop Game to Edmonton

Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Toros, dropped game two, of a three game set against the Edmonton Capitals, 11-2, Tuesday night at Hi Corbett Field. The loss drops the Toros record to 4-5 as they go into the final game of the short home stand.
Eric Schaler (0-1) got the start where he only lasted two innings, earning the loss. Schaler gave up six runs, five earned, on four hits. Paige Doumont (2-0) earned the win for the Capitals.
Toros' newcomer, Andrew Romo, gave the Toros three solid innings of relief as only gave up one run, unearned, on three hits. Romo also fanned four Caps batters.
Skip Adams extended his season opening hitting streak to nine games as he hit a leadoff single for the Toros and went 1-4 on the night. Adams also drove in one of the Toros two RBI in the loss.
Designated hitter Jim Rushford also had a solid night at the plate as he went 2-4, with a pair of singles.
The final game of the three-game series will take place Wednesday at Hi Corbett Field with a scheduled start time of 7:00 pm.
