Toronto Rock News Release
TORONTO - The Toronto Rock signed former San Jose Stealth forward Luke Wiles to a one year deal this week pending league approval.
Wiles was acquired by the Rock in September during a draft day deal in exchange for a 2008 first round pick with the San Jose Stealth.
"Luke is a very talented player and will be counted on to be a big contributor to our Rock offence" said Mike Kloepfer Director of Lacrosse Operations for the Rock.
Picked up by the Stealth in a mid-season trade in 2006 with the Philadelphia Wings, Wiles earned NLL All Rookie Team honours in 2006 and tallied 54 points (20 goals, 34 assists) last season with the Stealth.
In 2007, Wiles accumulated 30 goals, 52 assists and 95 loose balls in the regular season, a team high for San Jose that year.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed due to club policy.
Rock training camp continues this week as management prepares to submit a final 23 man roster to the NLL in early December.
