Toronto Arrows Announce Signing of Canada U18 Grad Reimer

TORONTO, ON - The Toronto Arrows are pleased to announce the signing of Pacific Pride scrum-half Sam Reimer.
Reimer, 19, arrives at the club from Rugby Canada's national development academy side in British Columbia's Premier Division, where he has been honing his skills since September of last year.
Prior to joining the Pride, the local product represented Canada at the under-18 level (as an under-ager) in 2019.
Reimer is a graduate of the Ontario Blues junior men's provincial program and plays his grassroots rugby with the Oshawa Vikings alongside Arrows teammates Kobe Faust and Brock Webster.
He is currently a member of the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks post-secondary program, and is a former high school teammate of fellow Arrows scrum-half Cole Brown; the two attended Dunbarton High School in their hometown of Pickering, Ont.
With recent signings Riley Di Nardo and Gord McRorie having completed their short-term spells with the team, and three additional senior team scrum-halves currently listed on the injured reserve and unavailable for selection this coming weekend - Andrew Ferguson is out for the season (hamstring), while Chris Bell is month-to-month and Ross Braude is week-to-week (lower-body injuries) - the hometown halfback is in line to make his Major League Rugby debut on Sunday.
"Sam is a solid, young Ontario product that we've been monitoring closely throughout his time with the Pride," said Mark Winokur, Toronto Arrows Chief Operating Officer and General Manager. "His game has taken a big jump while out west, and despite being just 19 years old, he plays beyond his years. We feel he's developed to the point where he's ready to make the leap to MLR and hit the ground running, and we're excited to welcome him home and provide him with an opportunity to continue evolving his skillset."
The Arrows (6-5; 30 points) enter Week 14 of the season with a home clash against Rugby New York (7-4; 37 points) on Sunday, May 8. The Eastern Conference meeting will be played at York Lions Stadium, and will kick off at 12 p.m. ET.
Tickets are available for purchase via AXS, the official ticketing partner of the Toronto Arrows, on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. Single game tickets start as low as $15 and are available for all home games in 2022.
