Wenatchee Wild News Release

FRISCO, Texas - The Texas Tornado scored two third-period goals Friday night en route to a 3-1 victory over the Wenatchee Wild. It was Wenatchee's second straight loss during an extended road trip in Texas.

Texas drew first blood when Rock Einersen scored a power play goal at the 13:22 mark of the first period. The Tornado maintained its 1-0 lead for a majority of the game until the Wild managed to tie the contest on a power play of its own seven minutes into the third period. Kyle Brodie (Northglenn, Col.) scored the goal, his ninth of the season, on assists by Bradley Shumway (Lafayette, Colo.) and Jeff Jubinville (Edmonton, AB). Shumway was making his debut with the Wild.

The Tornado came back with a pair of unanswered goals late in the third period for the eventual 3-1 final. Jack Prince scored Texas' second power play goal of the game with just over seven minutes remaining in regulation, and James Howard's goal at 18:56 sealed the win.

Wenatchee peppered Texas netminder Dan Sullivan with 42 shots, only one of which lit the lamp. Wild goaltender Brandon Jaeger (Champlin, Minn.) stopped 31-of-34 shots in suffering just his second regulation loss of the season. Texas went 2-for-8 on the man advantage while Wenatchee was 1-for-7.

The Wild and Tornado conclude their 2-game series Saturday night at 7 p.m. Central time at the Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas.
