Top Spot On The Line As Steamers, Wave Meet

The Steamers and Milwaukee Wave are tied for first place in the MISL and that tie will be broken when these two teams collide this Sunday afternoon, February 12 at 2:35 at Savvis Center. The Steamers are 8-0 at home while Milwaukee is 6-2 on the road. These two teams have split the two games they've played thus far with the Steamers handing Milwaukee a 10-4 defeat in their last meeting January 13 in Milwaukee.

Reiniger Closes In On 600 Career Goals

Steamers forward Joe Reiniger is on the verge of an impressive milestone. Reiniger has scored 598 regular-season goals in his indoor soccer career. He could reach the 600 milestone when the Steamers host the Milwaukee Wave this Sunday, February 12 at 2:35 p.m. at Savvis Center. Reiniger began his professional career in 1993 and has since played all but four seasons in a St. Louis uniform. In 435 career indoor games, he has scored 598 total goals in games played through February 4, 2006.

Phillips Shuts Out Chicago, Earns Fourth Goalkeeper Of The Week Honor

Brett Phillips isn't simply winning Goalkeeper of the Week awards this season, he's collecting them. The MISL has awarded Phillips with his fourth Goalkeeper of the Week honor for the period of January 30 to February 5, 2006. Phillips and the Steamers shut out the Chicago Storm Saturday, February 4 before 9,163 fans at Savvis Center.

Five Steamers Headed To All-Star Game This Saturday

Four Steamers will appear at the the MISL All-Star Game this Saturday, February 11 in Milwaukee. Goalkeeper Brett Phillips and forwards Jamar Beasley and Shaun David will play for the MISL All-Stars, while defender Genoni Martinez, a native of Mexico City, will play for the Mexican Federation's National Futbol Rapido team. Steamers defender Randy Soderman has been named an alternate to the MISL team due to an injury to Philadelphia Kixx defender Pat Morris, who is listed as questionable for Saturday's game.

Namazi, Tozer To Coach MISL All-Star Squad

Steamers Head Coach Omid Namazi and Milwaukee Wave Head Coach Keith Tozer have been named by the Major Indoor Soccer League as co-coaches of the 2006 MISL All-Star team. The MISL All-Stars will face the Mexican Federation's National Futbol Rapido team this Saturday, February 11, 2006 in Milwaukee. Namazi is in his first season at the helm of the Steamers and his eighth as a head coach.
