West Michigan Whitecaps News Release
Justin Upton, the first overall pick from the June 2005 Major League Baseball Draft, will be at Fifth Third Ballpark May 20 - 23 when the South Bend Silver Hawks visit the West Michigan Whitecaps. Upton, who joined the Silver Hawks April 20, has been impressive in his first professional season. He is currently batting .313 with 10 RBIs, 12 runs scored, six doubles and one home run in 22 games. The Silver Hawks begin the four game series with the Whitecaps at Fifth Third Ballpark Saturday, May 20 at 7 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. for the first Saturday Fireworks game of the season. Sunday, May 21 is Sprint Breast Cancer Awareness Day at Fifth Third Ballpark.
