Too Little, Too Late for Ice in 8-4 Loss
December 30, 2013 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Indiana Ice News Release
If any of the United States Hockey League's season-high 5,226 attendees were seeing their first hockey game Monday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse - nothing was normal.
When the Indiana Ice, 9-0-1 in their last ten games and leading the Eastern Conference, hostd the 6th place Muskegon Lumberjacks, it figured to be a certain two points over the visitors. Muskeogn had posted a 3-6-1 slate over their last ten contests.
Denis Smirnove led the charge with three points (2G, A) while Patrick Newell and Joe Sullivan both added a goal in the effort.
The Indiana Ice will be back in action Friday (1/3) at Bankers Life Fieldhouse for round one of a weekend double-header with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Saturday's contest (1/4) will be played at Pan Am Pavilion with both matches starting at 7:05 pm.
