
Tomahawks Fall to Warriors 3-2

Lane Valimont scored his first Tomahawks goal, but the Michigan Warriors scored less than two minutes later to earn the 3-2 victory on Sunday afternoon in Flint, Mich. The Tomahawks finished the weekend with one point, keeping sole possession of fourth place in the North Division.
The Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, thanks to a goal from Peter Bates at 4:24 and a Dalton Skelly power-play goal at 13:51.
Casey Linkenheld got the Tomahawks on the board 4:10 into the second period, taking a pass from Zac Robbins just inside the blue line, before scoring a spinning goal past the right skate of goaltender Ryan Wischow. Steve Quagliata also added an assist on the goal, his seventh point in the last five games.
Valimont took the rebound from a Tanner Barnes shot, scoring on a quick shot with 8:03 remaining in the third period. Josh Bowes also added an assist on the game-tying goal.
Just 1:28 later, the Warriors set the final score, as Andrew Green provided Alex Berardinelli with a quick pass that led to the game-winning goal in front of the net.
Wischow earned his second win of the weekend, stopping 28 of 30 shots. Bednard stopped 23 of 26 shots in the loss. The Tomahawks went 0-for-3 on the power play and 4-for-5 on the penalty kill.
