
Tomahawks Fall to Warriors 3-1 on Friday Night

The Johnstown Tomahawks got on the board first, but the Michigan Warriors scored three unanswered goals to earn the 3-1 victory on Friday night in Flint, Mich. With the win, the Warriors moved two points ahead of the Tomahawks for second place in the NAHL North Division.
Tanner Barnes got the Tomahawks on the board, scoring his eighth goal of the season at 7:33 of the first period. Barnes has scored four points (2G-2A) in his last five games. Shane Bednard and Mitch Hall each added assists on the power-play goal.
The Warriors tied the game late in the first, as TJ Stuntz scored with 13 seconds remaining. Joshua Shellman added the assist on the goal. The Warriors took the lead late in the second period, as A.J. Marcinek scored at 17:41. Nick Mosher set the final score with a goal 3:34 into the third period. Connor Lyons and Cody Lichtenvoort earned assists on the goal.
Robbie Beydoun earned the win, stopping 24 of 25 shots. Alex Okicki took the loss, allowing three goals on 32 shots. The Tomahawks went 1-for-4 on the power play, while going a perfect 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
The Tomahawks and Warriors conclude their weekend and regular-season series tomorrow night at 7 p.m. The Tomahawks return home to take on the Janesville Jets next Friday and Saturday at the War Memorial.
