Johnstown Tomahawks News Release
The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Maryland Black Bears Saturday night by a final score of 4-2 at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA.
Saturday night's game started off fairly quiet until Dimitry Kebreau lit the lamp for Maryland with 6:29 remaining in the first period. Kebreau's goal would be the only of the period, giving the Black Bears a 1-0 lead to start the game.
Ryan Panico got the Tomahawks on the board early in the second period with his 6th goal of the season, tying the game at one. Maryland responded with a power play goal from Luke Van Why 5:13 into the second period. Panico found the back of the net for the second time just over midway through the second period, followed by a goal from Drake Albers less than two minutes later to give the Tomahawks a 3-2 lead and put them on top for the first time in the weekend series.
Albers secured the win for Johnstown with 50.2 seconds on the clock, getting the empty net goal and a 4-2 win to close out the Tomahawks homestand.
The Tomahawks head out to Middletown next weekend for two games against the New Jersey Titans on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25. The games will be available to watch live on HockeyTV.
