Toledo's Kearns Named In Glas Co ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Bracken Kearns of the Toledo Storm is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Apr. 17-23.

The 6-foot and 195-pound rookie scored his first professional hat trick and added an assist in Toledo's 5-3 win at Johnstown on Apr. 19, helping the Storm complete a sweep of the Chiefs in the North Division Semifinals.

Kearns is tied for the lead among rookies in the Kelly Cup Playoffs with two power-play goals and two game-winning goals. He leads the Storm in the postseason with five goals and eight points in five games, and is also the team leader in power-play goals and game-winning goals.

He tied for the regular season rookie lead with 33 goals and tied for fourth among rookies with 69 points in 71 games. He led Toledo in goals and points while tying for second on the team with nine power-play goals and six game-winning goals and ranking third with 36 assists. He also played one game in the American Hockey League with the Cleveland Barons, recording one assist.

The Vancouver, British Columbia native played four seasons with the University of Calgary from 2001-05 where he had 83 points (31g-152) in 136 games.

On behalf of Bracken Kearns a case of pucks will be donated to a Toledo, Ohio area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. In Glas Co has donated over 14,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the award in 2000-01.
