Toledo Walleye News Release
Walleye Notes
- Past Week Performance! Toledo started the weekend in Trenton and saw the Titans win game one 4-1. The two teams were tied heading to the third period but Trenton was able to strike for three goals on Walleye goaltender Kent Simpson. Toledo would flip the tables on Saturday night. The Walleye carried a 2-0 lead into the third period before scoring three more in the period en route to a 5-1 win. Toledo finished the weekend with a 4-2 win in Reading on Sunday afternoon.
- Finding the Offense! After two games in which the Walleye scored a total of three goals, Toledo found its offense over the weekend. It started with a five goal outburst Saturday night in Trenton. The Walleye followed that up with a four goal rampage Sunday afternoon.
- Slow Start for the PP! Toledo finally scored on the power play Saturday night when defenseman Joey Ryan turned on the red light. The Walleye collected another power play in Sunday's win at Reading by defenseman Wes O'Neill. Toledo went 1-4 in two straight games with the man advantage.
- Hats off to the Captain! Walleye captain Kyle Rogers on Sunday played in his 143rd game in a Toledo uniform. That ties him with former Walleye forward Evan Rankin for the most games played by a Walleye player!
- Nestrasil Scoring! Forward Andrej Nestrasil has found the back of the net early this year. The second year forward has four goals and three assists for seven points in the first six games.
- Gametime! Toledo will face another three games in three days starting Thursday night in Wheeling. This will be the first of ten meetings this year between the two. Toledo is 73-58-14 All-Time against the Nailers after going 3-5-1 last year. Friday marks a return to Toledo for the Walleye as they host the two newest members of the North Division in back to back days. Friday the Ft. Wayne Komets come to town before the Evansville Icemen show up on Saturday.
- Promotions! Friday night is another "Post-Game Party with the Walleye Players"! Following the game, fans can head the Lighthouse Lounge for the Party!
Walleye Player of the Week:

Walleye Goaltender of the Week:
