Stingrays Weekly: Stingrays Celebrate Halloween with Solar Bears and Jackals

The South Carolina Stingrays visited the Florida Everblades and Orlando Solar Bears this week for a record of 1-2-0-0. The three-game road trip kicked off Wednesday at Germain Arena in Estero, FL against the Everblades. Forwards Matthew Pistilli and Tyler McNeely each scored a goal and an assist, forward Mike Ullrich added three assists and goaltender Shawn Hunwick made 39 saves in a 5-4 shootout victory. The Stingrays battled the Solar Bears for the first time in team history Thursday night, falling 5-3. Forward Shawn Weller netted two goals. The road trip wrapped up Friday back in Estero with the Everblades taking a 6-4 win. Defenseman Tommy Cross buried two goals including his first professional marker.

Taking the Lead

The Stingrays are fifth in the South Division with six points and 11th overall in the Eastern Conference.

Forward Tyler McNeely is tied for second in the ECHL with three power-play goals.

Rookie Andrew Cherniwchan is tied for third among first-year players with eight points (three goals, five assists) and second with a plus-minus rating of +6.

Defenseman Tommy Cross is sixth among ECHL rookies and third among league defensemen with seven points (two goals, five assists).
