Walleye Notes

- Scoring as fast as Possible! Sunday's game showcased how fast Toledo can put together back to back to back goals. Mark Nebus scored at 6:46 of the second period to start Toledo on a three goal outburst. Evan Rankin scored at 7:58 followed by Mike Hedden at 9:00. Three goals for Toledo in 2 minutes and 14 seconds is the fastest scoring spree for Toledo this year. The Rankin and Hedden goals were separated by just 1:02, which is fastest the Walleye have collected two goals.

- Four Consecutive! In Sunday's game, Toledo scored four consecutive goals. It was the first time this season the Walleye have collected four unanswered goals in a game.

- Let's go Shorty! Toledo scored two more shorthanded goals this past week and currently has five shorthanded goals this season. JC Sawyer collected his Saturday night and Adam Hobson made it two in a row for the Walleye Sunday. The five goals have been scored by five different Walleye players (Dominic Osman, Jamie Milam, Chris Robertson, Sawyer and Hobson).

- Sawyer is Back! Defenseman JC Sawyer returned to the Walleye prior to Friday's game with Florida. All JC did was collected four points in three games (2g, 2a). Sawyer leads Toledo in points with 21 (7g, 14a).

- Rake them in Rankin! Forward Evan Rankin collected his team-leading eight and ninth goals of the season this past week. Evan has three goals in the past four contests.

- Fan-tastic! For the season, 73,334 fans have passed through the turnstiles at the new Lucas County Arena for an average of 6,111.

On the Hook

- Gametime! Next up for Toledo it's a return to action against the ECHL South Division as the Florida Everblades return to the Lucas County Arena Wednesday night. Toledo is 2-3-1-1 against the Everblades this year. Wednesday will mark the final time the two will meet in the regular season. Friday and Saturday night the Kalamazoo Wings enter the Lucas County Arena. Toledo has defeated the Wings twice this season in the two prior meetings, once in regulation (7-5) and the second in overtime (5-4). On Sunday, Toledo will march into Wheeling for a date with the Nailers.

- Promotions! Wednesday night is Walleye Window Cling Wednesday! Saturday night features "Cowbells N Country night". Cowbells will be given out to the first 3,000 fans in attendance presented by BCSN.

Walleye Player of the Week: JC Sawyer (2 goals - 2 assists 4 points)

Just another great week for Toledo's leading scorer.

Walleye Goaltender of the Week: Alec Richards (0-0-1, 3.77 gaa,.909 save %)

Alec returned Sunday from Rockford and posted a terrific game, including stopping four of five South Carolina shooters in the shootout.
