Torrington Titans News Release
The Torrington Titans are excited to welcome back three returning players for the 2014 summer season, including Nick DeLotto, Mike Gibbons, and Mike Odenwaelder.
Nick DeLotto, from Southbury, CT, is a first baseman at UConn Avery Point. Titan's manager, Dan McNamara spoke highly of DeLotto, "Although he was picked up late in the season by Torrington last year, he showed a lot of promise at the plate. I think DeLotto will be a strong hitter for us this season."
Mike Gibbons, from Simsbury, CT, is a right-handed pitcher at Wheaton College. "Gibbons was a stand out pitcher for the Titans in 2013; he threw a no-hitter against the Seacoast Mavericks, which was one of the team highlights from last summer. As an upper classman who is familiar with the league, I expect him to be one of our team leaders in 2014," says McNamara.
Mike Odenwaelder, from Goshen, CT, is an outfielder and right-handed pitcher at Amherst College. Most recently Odenwaelder was named one of the top 10 prospects in division 3 by PerfectGame.com. "I am excited to have Odenwaelder back this summer in Torrington," says McNamara. "As the team MVP last year, he should bring a great energy to the ballpark this season. He's been lights out as a pitcher this spring in his college scrimmages, so it will be great to see how he performs on the mound as well as in the outfield."
The Torrington Titans provide student-athletes from New England and New England colleges the opportunity to compete and play with the elite players from across the country and to promote them to MLB organizations.
