TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans announced the signing of defenseman Chris Huxley today.

A four-year starter at Harvard University, the 5-foot-11, 202-pound Huxley, 24, was a key catalyst for the Crimson's power play, a role he could fill with the 2011-12 Titans.

"Chris is an excellent skater who can handle the puck and pass,'' said Titans head coach Vince Williams."This is first professional season, and I can see him helping us a great deal. He's a solid left-handed shooter.

''He's also good at helping kill penalties.''

Earning playing time as a freshman season, the native of Weymouth, Mass., played in 119 games in four seasons at Harvard, scoring 42 points (7 goals, 35 assists).

Before Harvard, Huxley played for the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League (USHL) in 2006-07, scoring 17 points (3 goals, 14 assists).

The Titans will play two preseason games, meeting Elmira at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7 at Pro Skate in Monmouth Junction, and visiting Reading at the Sovereign Center at 4:05 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9.

The team makes its regular-season ECHL return at Elmira Oct. 14, with its 2011-12 home-opener vs. Florida Oct. 22.

Season tickets are on sale by calling 609-341-1100. Single-game tickets will be available for purchase Sept. 6 by calling our office, at the Sun National Bank Center box office or on-line via ComcastTix.
