Torrington Titans News Release
The Torrington Titans have recruited local Division I baseball talent from Connecticut for the 2014 summer season. Some of the highlights of the signings include:
Matt Batten of Shelton, CT is a freshman shortstop from Quinnipiac University. According to Titans manager, Dan McNamara, "Batten is one of the best defensive players I've seen in a long time and has the ability to get drafted on his defense alone. You can't help but notice his defensive skills when he's in the infield."
Joe Borelli of Wallingford, CT is a junior right-handed pitcher from Fairleigh Dickinson University. "Borelli was the 2012 NJ Collegiate Baseball Association D1 Rookie Pitcher of the Year after going 3-4 with 5.33 ERA in 12 appearances," according to McNamara. "He struggled a bit in 2013, but based on his fall ball performance, I expect Borelli to pitch very well in 2014."
James DeNomme of Trumbull, CT, is a freshman catcher from Hosftra University. McNamara says of DeNomme, "He's an athletic backstop, with lots of energy and quick transfer. He's performed well in spring ball so far and has big potential behind the plate."
Justin Robarge of Southington, CT is a sophomore right-handed pitcher from University of Hartford. "Robarge is tall (6'6") with an excellent pitcher's build. He has a fast arm, simple delivery, an excellent fastball and a solid slider. He's a great addition to our pitching staff."
The Torrington Titans provide student-athletes from New England and New England colleges the opportunity to compete and play with the elite players from across the country and to promote them to MLB organizations.
