
Titans Coach Resigns

Torrington, Ct-The Torrington Titans announce the resignation of long time field manager Gregg Hunt. Coach Hunt cited "it felt like it was time" in his letter to Carminucci Sports Group CEO, Chris Carminucci. Coach Hunt also stated that "he wanted to give the Titans, as much time as possible" to look for another manager.
Coach Hunt has accepted an invitation to join the Titans Advisory Board, with the likes of big league players Cecil Fielder, Pete Incaviglia, and Kash Beauchamp. "The Titans are a family and we really wanted to find a way to keep Coach a part of the Titan family", stated Carminucci.
Coach Hunt began managing the Torrington Twisters in 1997 when they were first brought to Torrington. Leading the team to five first-place finishes and four appearances in the NECBL championship series. Hunt managed the Manchester Silkworms in the NECBL during the 2009 campaign when the Twisters left Torrington, then returning to the Titans before the 2010 season. He is also the all-time winningest coach in NECBL history.
Hunt is no stranger to big time baseball. Throughout his collegiate summer coaching career, coach has seen big league talent come through Torrington. With the likes of 2009 1stOverall pick in the MLB Draft, Washington Nationals big leaguer Stephen Strasburg, is just one of the four first round picks Hunt has managed as well as numerous minor league players.
At the high school level, he has coached baseball at Thomaston and Terryville (Conn.) High Schools. He is currently the varsity head coach at Wamogo (Conn.) High School for both the boys baseball and basketball programs.
