Trenton Titans News Release

TRENTON, N.J. - The Trenton Titans announced the signing of forward Chris Poli and defenseman Vinny Geonnetti.

"I am familiar with both Chris and Vinny, and I certainly feel they can both help our hockey team,'' said Titans head coach Vince Williams.

Poli, 26 and a native of Medfield, Mass., and a former star at Brown University, is also familiar to area fans. He played three seasons with the Trenton Devils, appearing in 55 games between 2007-08 and 2009-10. His best stretch came in 2009-10, when he scored 39 points (13 goals, 26 assists) in 36 games with Trenton. He spent part of the 2010-11 season with the Gwinnett Gladiators, playing in 17 games.

"Chris has good size (6-foot-1, 210 pounds) and can play center or the wings,'' said Williams. "The good thing is I've coached him before and I know his strengths.

"He stepped away from the game for awhile, but now he wants to get back in.''

Geonnetti, 23, is a native of Philadelphia and a South Jersey resident. He comes to the Titans from the 1000 Islands Privateers of the Federal League, where he appeared in 13 games. He also played in one game with the Elmira Jackals this season and 11 with that club in 2010-11.

"Vinny can certainly fill a spot for us,'' said Williams of the 6-foot-1, 195-pound Geonnetti.

The Titans enter the second half of the ECHL season with games this weekend at Elmira (7:35 p.m. Friday) and at home vs. Kalamazoo Saturday (7 p.m.), which is Scout Night, and Toledo Sunday (4 p.m.). A full-team autograph session will follow Sunday's game.

Tickets for all Titans games are on sale by calling the Titans offices at 609-341-1100. Single-game tickets are also available at the Sun National Bank Center box office and on-line at www.comcasttix.com.
