Tip-A-Checker Charity Event Set for October 24

CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte Checkers today announced that a group of their players will wait tables and serve as bartenders for fans at the Pizza Peel's Plaza Midwood location at 1600 Central Ave. on Monday, Oct. 24, from 6-9 p.m. All tips earned by players will benefit the Checkers Charitable Foundation.
Reservations are strongly encouraged and are available on a first-come, first-served basis in two seating blocks: one from 6-7 p.m., with seating beginning as early as 5:30 p.m., and a second from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Those wishing to make a reservation may contact Pizza Peel by emailing pizzapeelcentral@gmail.com with their full name, a contact phone number, their party size and preferred dining time.
Aside from tipping a select group of Checkers players to be announced later, patrons can also make a charitable donation by ordering the special Checkers-themed pizza of the month called "The Power Play," which features the Pizza Peel's signature crust, a BBQ stout base, mozzarella cheese, smoked pulled pork and red and green peppers garnished with Asiago cheese and a BBQ stout swirl. Ten percent of all "Power Play" sales will benefit the Checkers Charitable Foundation throughout the entire month of October.
