DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Wild General Manager Brent Flahr announced on Tuesday that rookie center and 2015 First Round Draft Pick Joel Eriksson Ek (YULE, Eric-son-Eck) is expected to make his North American debut vs. Grand Rapids on Tuesday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
Eriksson Ek, 19 (1/29/97), was drafted by Minnesota in the first round (#20 overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Last season, the young Swede scored nine goals and totaled 15 points in 41 games with Farjestads BK Karlstad of the Swedish Elite Hockey League. In 2014-15, he recorded six points (4-26) in 34 games with Farjestad in the Swedish Hockey League and tallied 32 points (21-1132) in 25 games with Farjestad's Junior team. His six points were the most by any under-18 eligible player and his 21 goals led the Under-20 league. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound native of Karlstad, Sweden, notched six points (5-16) in five games for Sweden at the 2015 Under-18 World Championship. He led his country in goals and ranked tied for first in scoring. Eriksson Ek also represented Sweden at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. He tallied 40 points (22-1840) in 33 games with Farjestad's Under-18 Team and four points (2-24) in 13 games with Farjestad's Junior Team in 2013-14.
Iowa continues a seven-game home stand on Tuesday at 7 PM with the Grand Rapids Griffins. For every Tuesday game of the year, Kids Eat Free (12 and under), presented by Goodhue-Nolte and 96.5 Country. Fans are encouraged to bring costumes to the game. Those that that make donations will be given a ticket to a future Wild home game. The Costume Drive is sponsored by Lazer 103.3. Fans that present a Subway coupon will be able to purchase a ticket for $5.
The home stand continues on Oct. 21 and 22 with the Charlotte Checkers, both games are set for 7 PM. Friday night is a $2 Beer night, presented by 103 The Bus. The team also offers the first night of Collegeville, a special ticket offer for students. Saturday night is Ladies Night, with drinks specials throughout the game. Fans may enjoy Jim Beam drink specials, as well as drink specials on Barefoot Wine. The Brewdog Pack is available for purchase, which includes a Bud Light and a hot dog at the game, as well as a Bud Light after the game at Legends Bar and Grill.

The Iowa Wild 2016-17 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center: and runs from October through April. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. For Saturday game days, the box office will open at 10 a.m. For Sunday game days the box office will open at 12 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE or by visiting participating Hy-Vee food stores locations in the greater Des Moines area.
