New Hampshire Phantoms News Release
Hampstead, NH, 05/26/05 -- The NH Phantoms will play their second home game in the USL Division II this Saturday May 28th against the Western Mass Pioneers at the Souhegan High School in Amherst (412 Boston Post Rd, Amherst, NH 03031). Game kicks off at 7:30 pm.
Both teams know very well their strong and weak sides as they met last Saturday in Mass. The game was won by the Pioneers 3:1 with two goals coming from Neil Krause and a goal from Rigels Qosa. On target for the Phantoms was Ryan Ackerman after an assist from Mark Manganello. That was third consecutive defeat for the NH team with the same scoreline 1:3 and also their fourth away defeat. Western Mass on the other hand are unbeaten in their last four games and have only one loss in their 6 games. Forward Neil Krause and midfielder Rigels Qosa are leading goalscorers for the Pioneers, who are fifth in the table with 9 points. The Phantoms are one place from bottom with three points. Ackerman and Manganello, who were in the injury list in the beginning of the season, are fully fit for the game on Saturday. The team is also boosted by the return of goalkeeper T.J. Tomasso who spent last two weeks with the NE Revolution.
Phantoms GM Jim DeDeus said: "The season has been hard so far for us. We had many injury problems and 4 of our 5 games so far were away games. The home game against the Western Mass Pioneers is a good chance for our team to turn things around. We expect a big crowd for the game â between two and three thousand and I hope the boys will make the spectators happy with a win".
