
Timbers' Pore Named USSF D-2 Pro League April Player Of The Month

PORTLAND, Ore. - U.S. Soccer announced today that Portland Timbers midfielder Ryan Pore was voted the USSF Division-2 Professional League April Player of the Month. He recorded six goals and one assist in the Timbers' opening four games of the 2010 season.
The USSF D-2 Pro League Player of the Month is selected by a panel of journalists, comprised of members of print, television, radio and online media, hailing from each the of the 12 USSF D-2 Pro League markets.
Pore, 26, has been involved with each of the Timbers' seven goals scored this year. He scored two game-winning goals in April, including a late penalty-kick goal in a 1-0 win over the Rochester Rhinos on April 17. Pore also recorded two, two-goal performances during the month of April, including a brace against Northwest-rival Vancouver on April 29.
Portland holds the league's best record (3-0-1) and sits atop the USL Conference with 10 points.
The Mansfield, Ohio, native is in his second season with the Timbers in 2010. Last season, he was the team's second-leading scorer with 10 goals and was an all-league first-team selection. In 2009, he scored in six consecutive matches to aid in the Timbers' USL First Division-record, 24-game unbeaten streak.
