Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release
Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors are excited to announce that the team will be re-launching the Future Majors program for 2008-09 with Tim Hortons as the title sponsor.
Majors co-coach James Boyd and Majors players will be visiting participating minor hockey teams throughout the year to lead fun and interactive practice sessions, while helping players and coaches improve their hockey skills. The program was created to provide an extensive mentoring program that would assist with the physical development of young, hockey athletes in the community.
This year, the Tim Hortons Future Majors program will be open to Tyke to Atom categories. As part of the program this season, each team participating in the program will also be given 50 Red-Level seating tickets to a Majors regular season home game during 2008-09, courtesy of Tim Hortons.
"The Future Majors program is a perfect compliment to our Timbits Minor Hockey program and we are excited to be involved," says Steve Nicholson, Tim Hortons Store Owner. "Not only will this program provide mentorship for young players, it will also provide our minor hockey coaches with an opportunity to develop their skills and expertise."
Minor hockey teams interested in registering for the program for the 2008-09 season must complete the Tim Hortons Future Majors application form available online at the Majors website (www.stmichaelsmajors.com).
